Kent Peterson

Worship Leader

Kent began plunking away at a piano at 6 years old, picked up the guitar at 12, and his life has revolved around music ever since. Beginning his journey as a Christ follower at age 7, Kent has been involved in music ministry since high school and has been actively leading worship in different settings all of his adult life. Over the past 20 years, Kent has been a Music Director at several places which have an emphasis on a contemporary worship and creative arts programming, including Crosswinds Church in Dublin, CA, Oak Hills Church in Folsom, and most recently, Adventure Christian Church in Roseville.

Kent is passionate about helping people become more fully formed as followers of Christ, and believes that worship is a key part of the expression of one's devotion to Christ, and as we express our worship, our hearts and minds become more fully formed in His image. Music, being only one of many ways to express our worship, is an integral part of our corporate worship expression, and so Kent is very intentional about making the corporate worship experience one that is relevant, authentic and Biblical.

Kent has been married to his wonderful wife, Wendy, since 1987, and they have two beautiful daughters, Hayley and Amanda. Kent and Wendy were both born and raised in the East Bay, and moved to the Sacramento area in 1997. Kent is also an accomplished artist and has been working as a muralist and faux finish painter since 2001 in addition to his role in music ministry. (He is also a closet 70's rock fanatic, and you may see him around the area singing and playing guitar for a Styx tribute band called Renegade).

Kent is very excited about joining the team here at One Life. He looks forward to doing life with everyone here as we journey together in Christ.
