We Believe ...
In One God
We believe in one God, the Creator of all things. He is eternal, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:1; John 1:1-3, 14:5-11; Isa. 45:5; Mark 12:29; Eph 4:4-6
In the Person of Christ
We believe that God has revealed Himself to us in the person of Jesus Christ. He is fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, yet willingly died for the sins of all mankind according to the Scriptures. He arose from the dead, ascended into heaven and is today our High Priest and Advocate.
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John; 2 Cor. 5:21
In the Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit Who indwells every believer in Christ and gives spiritual gifts to the church for mutual edification. He comes from the Father to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.
Ephesians 1:13-14; John 14:15-17, 16:5-11
In the Bible
We believe the Bible is the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is a supernaturally given revelation from God Himself, concerning Himself; His being, nature, character, will and purposes; and concerning man; His nature, need, duty and destiny.
2 Tim. 3:16-17; Mat. 5:17-18; Heb. 1:1-3; Rev. 22:18-19
In the Sinful Nature of Mankind
We believe that as a result of sin, men and women are separated from God and will undergo not only a physical death, but a spiritual death which is separation from God, and need a reconciliation with God.
Rom. 3:23, 6:23; Eph. 2:1-3; 1 John 1:8-10
In Salvation by Faith Alone
We believe that men and women can be saved from the consequences of sin, which is eternal death; by the grace of God through his or her faith in Jesus Christ, and in their repentance of sin. We are justified through Christ's death on the cross, His burial, and resurrection.
John 14:6; Eph. 2:8-9; Rom. 10:9-10; Luke 13:3
In Baptism
We believe in Baptism by immersion. One models his or her faith in Christ by being baptized. Immersion is a picture of death, burial, and resurrection of Christ as well as a picture of the new birth that one has experienced. We believe baptism serves as a demonstration of our living faith in Christ.
Acts 2:38, 2:41; Mat. 28:19-20; Rom. 6:3-5
In the Lord's Supper
We believe Jesus taught His followers the practice of the Lord's Supper to remember Him. We celebrate the Lord's Supper together weekly as a reminder of His love for us and how we are to love each other. The Lord's Supper is conducted to remember Christ's atoning work on the cross.
In Spiritual Gifts
We believe that the Holy Spirit empowers believers to live out the character of Christ. We believe spiritual gifts are meant to be used to glorify God by serving and supporting others. Spiritual giftedness and faithfulness determines where and how we serve. The primary signs of presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers is the fruit of the Spirit.
Eph. 4:12; Rom. 12:6-8; 1 Cor. 12:7-11; Gal. 5:22-26; 1 Pet. 4:9-11
In a Bodily Resurrection
We believe in a bodily resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous; the righteous to everlasting communion with God, the unrighteous to everlasting separation from God.
John 5:28-29, 14:1-3; 1 Thes. 4:15-18; Luke 16:19-28; Rev. 20:11-15
Satan & his Demons Exist
We believe that Satan and his demons are about the business of attempting to destroy the power and work of Christ and the authority of the Word of God. Satan desires to distort, confuse and pervert the truth of God's intended purposes.
1 Pet. 5:8; John 8:44; Rev. 20:10
In the Imminent Coming of Christ
We believe in the imminent coming of Jesus Christ to receive His bride, the Church, and literal, personal return of our Lord and Savior to establish His Kingdom.
Mat. 24:30, 25:31-33; 1 Thes. 4:13-18
In the Ministry & Mission of the Church
As evidence of our faith in Christ we believe the Holy Spirit enters our lives and makes us a part of His body, which is the Church. The Church has the mission of carrying on the work of Christ on earth. We believe the church is the greatest force that God has established upon the earth to make an eternal difference in the lives of people.
Mat. 28:19-20; Eph. 1:22-23, 4:11-16; Mark 16:15; 1 Pet. 3:15-16; 1 Cor. 12:12-13; Heb. 10:24-28
